‘Kalaignar’ Karunanidhi Is No More and Dravidian politics won’t be the same again

Karunanidhi was born in a small town called thirukuvali 15 miles from thiruvarur on 3rd June 1924 for his father’s first wife Kungeammal, he was born in a very poor family, so at his childhood period he struggled a lot and help the family he joined the dance crew in a near by temple. Their paper named him as Dhanashamoorthy later he renamed as muthuvel Karunanidhi inspite of his poverty; he had more affinity towards Tamil literature.

Later during his teenage, Mr. Periyar started a political party called Suiyamariyadai and he became the idol of Karunanidhi and at the same time Anna started a big protest against the Chief Minister Rajagopal achariya for Hindi compulsion, which was also supported by the Periyar followers throughout Tamilnadu.

On June 3rd 1938, the speech against Hindi compulsion by Periyar, Alagiriswami and peraringar Anna has inspired Kalingar. During his schooling itself, he topped on all speech competitions and earned more attention among the locals.

Later he started a NGO called Tamilnadu Tamil students committee on 29th April 1940 at many parts of Tamilnadu and helped Many people’s of the state.

And followed by his hard work and commitment toward his welfare mind, he had been the leader of Dravidha Munetra Kalagam and cements his place by creating a successful state and has been Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu 5 times. He is one of the most powerful politician in India and senior most leader in India. His loss has left big vacuum in Tamil Nadu Politics.
